I can’t tell you how many times I lie in Shavasana and a color comes to mind. I try to think deep into this color and connect it with a positive memory. Today, my color was pink.

When I was a little girl, I recall begging my mom to buy me this pink (pencil like) skirt at OshKosh Bigosh. I always looked up to her and her beauty, but I especially thought this when she left for work (she always looked effortlessly beautiful when she walked out the door). I saw her as this powerful business woman that I just envied. She had a red skirt that was similar to the one I wanted, so I just “had to have it”. I would play dress up and wear that skirt everywhere. I wanted to be someone, travel the world, be my own boss, and feel self empowerment… that pink skirt gave me that wanderlust feeling.

So as you pick your color through this meditation, I encourage you to take that color with you throughout the day and feel all the feelings that it brings to you. Today, I put the color pink on my backdrop of my desktop to remind me to lead with compassion, love, playfulness, warmth & kindness, just like I felt when I was a little girl in my pink pencil skirt.
